North Sea Collaborations are a multidisciplinary group that produce simple and elegantly designed objects.
Formed in 2015 by Newcastle-based Nick Kennedy and Oslo-based Isaac Voelcker, their work draws heavily from each partners well established respective practices as artist and architect.
In 2016 North Sea Collaborations released their first design, the Tulip pendant lampshade, which utilises a carefully crafted laser cut production process and clearly demonstrates their interest in exploring natural forms, rhythmic order and elemental geometries.
They are currently focusing on sculptural lighting design with a minimal, contemporary Nordic aesthetic; “We seek to create useful and functional objects through the careful assembly of beautiful, minimal materials.”
North Sea Collaborations are based in Oslo and Newcastle upon Tyne.
