Edward Robinson

Design for Edward Robinson is not about tapping into the latest fad or cultural trend.  Nor is it about developing a weird or wonderful concept then force fitting the material to the design.  Edward’s ethos stems from a genuine passion for materials and processes and his desire to develop designs that allow them to take centre stage.

His first range of products are a testimony to this ethos, showcasing his intuitive relationship with form, proportion and investigation of process.  By experimenting with modern and traditional processes, Edward brings out the best in his material to create innovative, stylish designs that will stand the test of time.

Spun range

Bringing his range of spun objects to the Baltic, with his spun stool already been taken on by the well established and influential ‘Thorsten Van Elten’, where it has been showcased at 100% Design and London design week in two different events. This exquisitely crafted stool which will look equally at home in a city bar or domestic urban courtyard. Formed from two metal sheets this stool is a celebration of form and process. It is available in a range of colours and finishes to suit all matter of taste.

Edward has also created a beautiful hand spun, polished vase in a Nickel or Copper plated finish. Designed to hold a single stem flower, the vase has been crafted to create the illusion of sumptuous solidity.  With a cleverly concealed indentation in the base to allow it to stand on its side, this vase is a vision of effortless graceful lines and pure elegance.
